Hi everyone I have had RA for about six years now and have been through the usual treatments of hydrochloroquine steroid injections and methotrexate. This year has been particularly difficult and cimzia was offered to me. I received the first injections last tuesday with no apparent side effects .Went to the hairdressers on thursday and my nose itched constantly thought it was reaction to the chemicals.Since then my legs feet and hands feel prickly and have experienced numbness at various times. Has anyone else had these problems? Sometimes it feels as though the cures are worse than the disease.

Yes I'm afraid I did.

Every dose, the neuro things got worse. It can happen on any of the anti-tnfs.

Sorry but you are going to have to go to A and E and be checked in case you have something really serious.

Please let us know how you get on.

Hi Avril,

I have been on Cimzia since May and have not had any side effects. Hope all is ok and you are having a hiccup. Thoughts are with you.

Hi Avril

Do please keep a close eye on things! As Jenni has said, and experienced, the biologic drugs can cause a variety of unusual side affects and certainly the 'neuro' ones such as numbness, tingling etc may be a cause for concern as they may be drug related or symptoms of something more sinister.

Hope you feel some benefits from the Cimzia soon,

Lyn x

Can't stress enough how important it is to keep an eye on things - as others have already said - don't ignore any neurological signs. Hoping it all works out well for you. Please keep in touch

Hi Avril

Really good to hear that the side effects have died away, and you can continue with the treatment. I have just started Cimziz, second anti-tnf, nobody has ever mentioned at the hospital to watch out for any side effects etc and the importance of getting things checked out urgently, thank goodness we have the forum for so much invaluable advice ThumpUp

Hope all continues to go well.

Julia x
